Alyssa Womer

Originally from New Hampshire, Alyssa Womer earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Hamilton College in upstate New York. Until 2015, Alyssa worked for governments and NGOs in wildlife conservation and land stewardship while volunteering with various animal shelters.  In late 2015, Alyssa worked for the Humane Society of Sedona as a veterinary technician, before moving to Flagstaff and joining the team at Second Chance in June of 2016 where she is currently the Shelter Manager.  Alyssa is currently studying to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. According to Alyssa, “I have always been passionate about animal welfare and I am excited to be supporting the high quality medical and behavioral care for the animal residents at Second Chance.”

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys birding, Nordic skiing, cooking, and hiking with her dog Boba Fett, who was originally rescued from an overcrowded shelter in the South.
