Jacques Du Preez joined Second Chance Center for Animals in 2016 and is the Digital Marketing Manager. Jacques oversees our donor database, website content, and social media promotions. He is part of the fundraising and marketing team responsible for promoting special events and pet adoptions in the community.
Having grown up with pets and owned many since, Jacques is well experienced with animals, ranging from big Rhodesian Ridgebacks, an African dog breed also known as lion hunters, to Spaniels, to cats; and a career serving animals is a natural as it comes.
Jacques, originally from South Africa, has a long history working in marketing and business management. Apart from working with a number of large international organisations, Jacques has also owned a small farm, with farm store, in Oregon, as well as an organic tea business. Jacques is well versed in all things tech and web based and is happy to use those skills to increase fundraising as well as number of adoptions.
According to Jacques, he has found his calling helping homeless animals and “It’s the most enjoyable thing I have ever done!” “Coming to work every day is the easiest thing I do, but leaving every day without taking everyone home with me, is the hardest.” Jacques speaks three languages (English, Afrikaans and Swedish), has lived on three continents (Africa, Europe and America) and knows how to bake Sourdough bread.
