This Volunteer appreciation Wednesday, we give a big shout out to Sydney Basti, who has been a valuable part of our animal care volunteer force since July 2016. With all the possible places in Flagstaff to volunteer; food banks, schools, community organizations, etc. Sydney was drawn to Second Chance Center for Animals, because she wants to make the lives of all animals that come through the shelter, as happy and positive as it can be. When asked what her most meaningful memory or experience as a volunteer at Second Chance has been, Sydney remembers seeing one of the cats that she always spent time with, finally get adopted, YAY! Sydney says that volunteering at Second Chance “Has given me a better understanding of how little things could make a big difference. Here are three interesting facts about Sydney: 1) She has lived in 6 states. 2) She has plans to go back to the South East to start college next year. And 3) she has a Chihuahua named Olive.

Thank you so much Sydney, for everything you do to help our homeless shelter animals and the humans that care for them.
