Second Chance Center for Animals Enlists Presler to Help Save More than 200 Lives

December 11, 2009
Second Chance Center for Animals expects to make this December their highest adoption rate month since their opening in 2004. To reach their goal of saving more than 200 lives, they are celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas from December 11th-December 24th by offering half off all adoption fees. Mayor Sarah Presler kick-started the celebration by hosting a puppy wash at SCCA on Friday, December 11 at 2 p.m.
More than 15,000 animals will have entered rescues in Northern Arizona by the end of this year. "Many people give the gift of animal companionship for the holiday season and we want to encourage people to adopt a pet from a rescue. When you adopt from a rescue, you actually save two lives, the animal you take home with you and the animal that gets to take its place at the rescue," says Kelley Durham, Executive Director for SCCA.
SCCA placed more than 100 animals in loving homes last December, and to help SCCA exceed that number this month, Mayor Presler soaped up SCCA puppies, preparing them for their new adoptive families.
