Animal Intake

SCCA rescues dogs and cats from two primary areas of immense need in Northern Arizona:  from Native American lands - where pet overpopulation and the plight of homeless dogs and cats are a serious and heartbreaking problem – and from other Arizona shelters.  Each animal must pass a strict behavior assessment to help assure the animal is safely adoptable.  SCCA provides necessary veterinary care, including medical assessments, spay or neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and microchipping.  We then are usually able re-home these animals with responsible new individuals or families.

SCCA also rescues "small critters" when space permits.

SCCA does its very best to take in dogs and cats from other sources based on our mission and goals.  However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate every dog and cat that is brought to us.

To inquire about the possibility of surrendering an animal to SCCA, please call (928) 526-5964 x200.  If we are able to assist you, we do charge a fee to help cover the many costs associated with caring for and re-homing animals.

Stray animals in Coconino County must be taken to Coconino Humane Assocation.
