We are always looking for energetic, outgoing, compassionate animal lovers to spend time with our dogs and puppies, cuddle with cats and kittens, assist with our animals’ general care, and to support our administration department and our humane education programs.

Specialized Foster Care Volunteers
Do you want to help ensure a “second chance” for an animal in need? If so, then becoming a foster-care provider may be the right fit for you. We often take in companion animals who need short-term recuperative care or an interim place to stay outside of the shelter environment. Some animals need a few days or weeks to recover from illness or surgery, or extra time to gain weight and build up their strength. Newborns who are not old enough to be spayed or neutered also need fostering – typically for 1 to 8 weeks, depending upon their age and size when they arrive at our shelter. As a foster-care volunteer, you can offer these animals the lifesaving care they need. And imagine the reward you will receive knowing you have played a special part in saving an animal’s life!
For more information on fostering, call (928) 714-2205. To download an application to become a Volunteer Foster Care provider, click here. Return the completed application to: Second Chance Center, 11665 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, AZ, 86004 or fax to 928-213-9809 (please note: the Foster Care application differs from the standard Volunteer Application, and is required for this special volunteer assignment).
